What is Radiant Heat
The Suns rays are heat waves radiating from the sun, and traveling towards earth the earth absorbs the heat and you feel comfortable.

Floor heating systems turns your home into your personal sun. Heat radiated from the floor, traveling towards you and you furniture you absorb that heat and you are comfortable.

The amount of heat generated by the sun cannot be controlled. Floor heating systems have their own thermostat thus allowing us to be comfortable year round.

Heat travels through the air without
heating it, so your environment is always cool and comfortable.

Convection HeatRadiant Heat
Low temperature heat rays generated by the floor travel in the room like the sun heating earth. This heat is absorbed. The air is not heated, temperature is constant from floor to ceiling.

Energy Consumption

    Convection HeatConvection Heat

Air travels through high temperature heating element. Warm air rises to the ceiling, pushed back cold air to the floor, cold air eventually gets to the base board and gets reheated.

    Evaluation

UUDAF Definition of a Comfort Zone

UUDAF is a comfort evaluation chart used by Centre Scientifique et Technique du Bâtiment from France.

    Horizontal

    Uniformity of the temperatures

    Vertical

    Uniformity of the temperatures

    Without Radiation

Draft (air movement within the room)

    Asymmetry

    Floor cold or warm.

WARMSURFACES, meets all the requirements of UUDAF

    U:

The heat distribution is even from one wall to the other.
WARMSURFACES is laid down on the entire area of the floor.
Each square inch of floor generates comfort.

    U:

Temperature variations from top to bottom should be minimal.
WARMSURFACES does not heat the air of the room thus eliminating air stratification, warm air at the ceiling and cold air on the floor.

    D:

The room is heated without an air draft created or resulting from convection.
WARMSURFACES does not use the air to heat the room thus eliminating air movement within the room (draft).

    A:

Heat radiance is balanced within the room.
Each square foot of WARMSURFACES generates 12 Watts of comfort.

    F:

The floor cannot be cold nor hot.
The temperature of WARMSURFACES is controlled by a thermostat or a dimmer.
    The floor is always comfortable.

    Evaluate your own heating system!

If your heating system has all of those criteria, it is a good floor heating system.
If it is misses 1, you have a little discomfort, but it still is a good system.
If it is misses 2, or more of those requirements, your heating system is uncomfortable.
Let WARMSURFACES be part of your space and your comfort.

    Thermostat
  • Control the degree of comfort that suits you

  • WarmSurfaces uses Class A thermostat Only ( Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter) , this thermostat is also  an electronic on/off thermostat for control of temperature by means of a sensor either placed externally or build into the thermostat. It has a build in clock function for automatic comfort and setback.

WarmSurfaces Generates 12 watts of comfort per square foot of flooring (120 w/square foot). The thermostat will preset your personalized comfort. While saving electricity and money.

WarmSurfaces comes as a heating cable. a heating mat, or a combination of both. It heats safely, with less that the minimum acceptable emissions of EMF (electromagnetic field).

Can WarmSurfaces be installed on hardwood floors?
It is an electric wire chosen for its heating properties, when a current is applied to it. The cable is placed on the surface of the floor with spacing of three inches. The cable emits 12 watts of heating per square foot of surface. A thermostat controls the temperature of the floor. The thermostat reads the temperature of the thought a probe that is on the floor, which allows adjusting the temperature of the floor according to your preference. Like the sun, the floor emits rays of heat that will warms the furniture, the walls and the people in the room, each person absorbs the heat according to their needs and everyone is comfortable. The temperature in the room will be 1 or 2 degrees lower than that of the floor.

How much does WarmSurfaces cost and who can install it?

Can it be installed on hardwood floors?
No, this is because there is a risk that the wood can dry and warp as a result of the heat.
No, and because the hardwood floor must be nailed in, thus the nails can harm the cable.

How much does WarmSurfaces cost and who can install it?

How much does it cost and who can install it?

At purchase the price is set according to the surface coverage.
At use consumption is reduced by 30 % than with heating plinth.
This is because radiating heat is much more effective, it consumes less  energy for the same cost. Consumption is equal to other heating systems.
It can be installed by construction workers, many floor installers, and electrician, however, the racordement of the floor must be done by an electrician, because it is an electrical device.

Will WarmSurfaces be enough to heat the room?

If I have too much cable can I cut it?

No, it is dangerous to shorten the cable; this can lead to a fire.

    enough to heat the room

Will it be enough to heat the room?

Yes. In North America, we have a need of 10 Watts per square foot of flooring to be comfortable. We generate 12 watts per square foot, thus you will have all the heat that you will need.

    Can I connect a 120-volt cable on 240 volts?
    No, the cable will burn.

What do I do if the cable breaks?

If the cable is broken before the floor covering is applied, it can be repaired easily, we have a repair kit.

If the cable breaks after the floor covering is applied, there are specialists that can localize the break and repair it.

The floor cover protects the cable, it is in concrete, and it only serves to heat, thus there is no reason for the cable to break. This is guaranteed.

Can I use my own Thermostat?

You can use any thermometer, on the condition that it reads the temperature of the floor and not that of the air in the room.
If you use a wall thermometer the floor would become to hot for some time and very cold when its not heating.

    Where can it be installed?

Warm Surfaces can be installed in a bathroom, kitchen, basement, anywhere we want to be comfortable... on plywood.
On Concrete... ceramic marble, granite, or slate tiles, as well as wooden floors, vinyl tiles, or carpets.

Where can it be installed? Where can it be installed?
