Please Note: To prolong the lifespan of your multistage pump and reduce frequent on and off cycles, we recommend using this Liquid Level Control Switch #105050 Unlike basic electronic float valves, which can potentially damage your pump due to their design limitations, this switch offers reliable control and protection. Ensure optimal performance and longevity.
If your well water contains hydrogen sulfide (the source of a rotten egg odor), as well as elevated levels of iron, sulfur, or manganese, it should be properly treated before it reaches the reverse osmosis (RO) membrane. Without adequate pre-treatment, these contaminants can cause membrane fouling, slime formation, and buildup. This may occur when hydrogen sulfide oxidizes into sulfur particles or when sulfur-reducing bacteria are present in the water.
Additionally, RO membranes are not designed to effectively remove hydrogen sulfide odors. For this reason, we recommend installing an appropriate iron/sulfur filtration system ahead of the RO unit to protect the membranes and improve overall system performance.
This RO system is designed for feed water with a TDS level of up to 1,000 ppm. If your water exceeds this level or has high hardness, we strongly recommend installing a water softener and using an antiscalant system before the RO system. These pre-treatment measures help minimize scale buildup, improve system efficiency, and significantly extend the lifespan of the RO membranes.
TDS = Total Dissolved Solids.
