How the System Works
Water enters the mineral tank and flows through the bed of coconut-shell activated carbon. The carbon adsorbs chlorine and many taste- and odour-causing compounds before the treated water continues to the home's plumbing system.
During the automatic backwash cycle, the Fleck 5800 SXT control valve reverses water flow through the media bed. This loosens and reclassifies the carbon, helps remove trapped debris, and prepares the media for continued filtration.
