Detailed Description:

Refillable Inline Mixed Bed Deionization Filter, Variable listing / two types of resins, please make sure to select the correct type before the checkout. The industrial resin is only used for aquariums, window cleaning, car wash, and other industrial uses.  While for drinking systems we use a food-grade resin.

Required Hardware

  • Two Fittings ( 1/4" Thread x 1/4" tube connectors ) is required to connect this filter to your RO unit. select part number: 105407 or 105401 and for Male Run T use 105429
  • Two 2"x2.5" double clamps are required to mount the filter to your RO system. part number: 105104

Our Deionization Resin is used to produce 99.99% pure water, convenient post RO filtration DI unit (RO/DI unit) provides crucial supplemental filtration to remove most impurities for pure polished product water. Excellent in areas with hard water. It will give you 0 ppm TDS, Conductivity attainable less than 0.1uS/cm or resistivity of close to 18MO.

Capacity (gal.) according to the incoming PPM to the filter

The following is the maximum range that you can get from each individual filter. There are too many factors that affect the filter to reach its optimal range,

-This filter requires maintenance by refilling the DI filter on time when the resin starts shrinking while it's in use,

- RO system filter and membrane condition.

- The temperature and compounds that are present in your water are also a factor that affects the performance of this filter.

On average you can get 400 to a maximum of 500 gallons RODI with RO input 5 PPM to this DI filter

  • 5 ppm - 700 gallons, 10 ppm - 350 gallons, 50 ppm - 70 gallons, 100 ppm - 35 gallons, 200 ppm -14 to 17 gallons, 300 ppm - 8 to 11 gallons, 400 ppm - 4 to 7 gallons, 500 ppm - 2 to 5 gallons

Common Causes of DI Resin Failure

The lifespan of DI resin is relatively short, with optimal output typically lasting only 1 to 2 minutes. It is crucial to carefully follow instructions to understand the resin's functionality and make an informed decision about investing in such systems.

When DI resin fails to produce water with zero Total Dissolved Solids (TDS), several potential causes exist. Let's explore some common reasons behind this issue:

  1. If you are using this DI system for aquarium purposes, ensure that your membrane is functioning optimally with a 96-97% rejection rate to prolong the life of the resin.
  2. Resin Exhaustion: DI resin becomes exhausted and loses its effectiveness over time or after processing a significant volume of water. Check usage against recommended PPM guidelines for replacement.
  3. Improper Usage: The lifespan of resin is brief, and any incorrect setup or application can lead to a short working period. Follow instructions meticulously to thoroughly grasp the resin's operation before investing in such systems.
  4. High Flow Rate Considerations: If water passes through the resin too swiftly (fast flow), insufficient contact time for ion exchange can result in lower purity water output (resulting in a high PPM reading).
  5. Water Temperature and Composition: Elevated temperatures can influence ion exchange efficiency, requiring careful consideration.
  6. Proper Packing and Channeling: Inadequate resin packing or channel formation within the container can hamper effective ion exchange, potentially due to settling or improper filling.

To address your specific situation, evaluate factors like flow rate, resin condition, and water composition, and consider replacing exhausted resin if necessary. Always ensure that your TDS meter is calibrated and reading correctly.

Great product
Nice addition to my 50gpd drinking water RO system by MAX Water Flow. Simply added this unit in-line after the final stage and connected directly to faucet. I measured total dissolved solids with a digital TDS meter and found 000. after filtration. Very happy with the product and especially price - does exactly what I want in lowering dissolved solids, ideal for reef aquarium top-off or saltwater mixing.
