Detailed Description:
The Max water Iron Resin is a high-capacity iron and manganese reducing replacement water filter cartridge designed for whole-house water filtration systems. To adapt its specifications and description for your Max Water brand, consider the following:
The most common methods of operation are continuous regeneration, which is recommended for predominantly iron water.
Note: Customers are advised to use a "sediment filter" as a pre-filter and a "CTO filter" as a post-filter to extend the life of the "Iron Manganese" replacement cartridge as the Iron-Manganese filter woven gets clogged fast if not protected by a sediment filter first. Also, customers might experience a slight pressure drop in water output (the minimum inlet pressure for the iron-manganese system is 60 psi). Rest assured this is normal and a part of the functioning of the media cartridge.
Product Description:
Enhance your home's water quality with the Max Water High-Capacity Iron & Manganese Reducing Replacement Water Filter Cartridge. Engineered to effectively reduce iron and manganese levels, this filter safeguards your plumbing and appliances from staining and damage. Designed for seamless integration with Max Water's whole-house filtration systems, it ensures a continuous supply of clean, great-tasting water throughout your home.
Key Features:
- Effective Iron & Manganese Reduction: Specially engineered to reduce iron (up to 3.0 ppm down to 0.01 ppm) and manganese (up to 1.0 ppm down to 0.01 ppm), ensuring cleaner and safer water for your home.
- Efficient High-Performance Filtration: Designed for optimal flow rates of 4–8 GPM with minimal pressure drop (impact of up to 5 psi at 8 GPM). Handles feed water pressure from 20–100 psi, improving water quality and protecting your household systems.
- Long-Lasting Durability: Outlasts conventional filters with a lifespan of up to 50,000 gallons (at 3.0 ppm iron level) or approximately 12 months at 200 GPD. Built with catalytic media that maintains stability and efficiency without being consumed during filtration.
- Wide Operational Range: Delivers consistent performance in diverse conditions, with a pH range of 4-9 and a temperature range of 40–113°F, ensuring reliable filtration in various environments.
- Safe & Certified for Drinking Water: Manufactured to meet strict FDA standards and independently tested against NSF/ANSI requirements for water quality, material safety, and structural integrity. Rest assured your water is safe for the entire family.
Specifications:
Note: Actual performance may vary based on local water conditions. It's recommended to test your water quality to determine the necessity and frequency of filter replacement.
Please follow the following steps to prevent clogging and potentially damaging the filter.
Step 1: After installing filters in the filter housings make sure that the outflow valve on the system is CLOSED.
Step 2: Open the main inflowing valve HALFWAY to limit the incoming water while holding down one of the pressure-release valves on the system to purge any air.
Step 3: OPEN the outflowing valve as well as the faucet nearest the system for 5-10 minutes, or until the water runs clear, to flush any fines from the filters.
Step 4: You're done! Turn off the faucet, open the main inflowing valve all the way, and your system is ready to go.
Caution:To prevent and avoid rapid buildups in the pre-woven filter and ensure that the Iron filter has a longer lifespan from getting clogged quickly and causing a drop in pressure throughout your entire home, it's important to always install this filter after the sediment filter.
Additionally, it's recommended to follow this filter with either a CTO carbon filter to effectively combat any unpleasant odors that may arise once it starts collecting iron or hydrogen sulfide. Without a carbon filter after the iron filter, there is no effective way to address the issue of foul odors.
Estimated Life of WH5 Iron Filter Cartridge:
Iron Equivalent Level in Water | Total Gallons of Water Used | 250 GPD (946 LPD)(four people) | 125 GPD (473 LPD)(two people) | 75 GPD (284 LPD)(one person) |
---|---|---|---|---|
0.3 ppm | 500,000 gal (189,0000 L) | 2000 days | 1000 days | 500 days |
0.5 ppm | 30,000 gal (113,4000 L) | 1200 days | 600 days | 300 days |
1 ppm | 150,000 gal (567,000 L) | 600 days | 300 days | 150 days |
2 ppm | 75,000 gal (283,500 L) | 300 days | 150 days | 75 days |
3 ppm | 50,000 gal (189,000 L) | 256 days | 125 days | 75 days |
PLEASE FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY ON HOW TO SET UP YOUR IRON MANGANESE CTO / GAC CARBON FILTER / SYSTEM WITHOUT CAUSING DAMAGE TO OTHER FILTERS.
Installing the system immediately with all 3 Filters loaded in will cause the 3rd Stage filter to be covered with iron powder, also known as “red water iron” so when handling Iron Manganese systems, pre-preparation for the system is very important.
