Whole House 3 Stage 20"x 4.5 Big Blue Max Water System 1" Ports (No Filters)

3-Stage 20-Inch × 4.5-Inch Whole-House Big Blue Water Filtration System with 1-Inch NPT Ports

Filters are not included. This housing system is supplied without filter cartridges so you can select the correct filters for your water conditions and treatment goals.

The Max Water 3-Stage Whole-House Big Blue Filtration System is designed for high-flow point-of-entry water treatment in homes, cottages, farms, workshops, commercial buildings, and light industrial applications.

Its oversized 20-inch × 4.5-inch housings support longer cartridge life and strong water flow compared with smaller residential filters. Installed at the main water line, the system can help protect plumbing fixtures, appliances, water heaters, showers, and faucets throughout the property.

The first-stage clear housing allows convenient visual inspection, while the two additional Big Blue housings provide flexibility for sediment, carbon, iron, manganese, chloramine, scale-control, or other specialty cartridges.

Customizable 3-Stage Filtration: Select each cartridge separately according to your water test results. This allows you to build a treatment system for city water, well water, cottage water, commercial prefiltration, or manufacturing applications.

Three Pressure Gauges for Easier Filter Monitoring

The three vertical hydraulic pressure gauges help monitor incoming pressure and pressure changes across the filtration stages.

As cartridges collect sediment or become restricted, the pressure difference between gauges may increase. A growing pressure drop can indicate that one or more filters require inspection or replacement.

  • Gauge 1: Monitors incoming feed-water pressure and pressure after the first stage.
  • Gauge 2: Monitors pressure after the second stage.
  • Gauge 3: Monitors pressure after the third stage and the system outlet.

Important: Compare pressure readings while water is flowing. Gauge differences can also be affected by flow rate, pump performance, plumbing size, valve position, and the type of cartridge installed.

Potential Contaminant Reduction

Depending on the filter cartridges selected, the system may help reduce:

  • Sediment, silt, dirt, sand, and rust
  • Chlorine, unpleasant tastes, and odours
  • Turbidity and suspended particles
  • Certain pesticides and herbicides
  • Selected volatile organic compounds (VOCs)
  • Selected trihalomethanes (THMs)
  • Selected methyl tert-butyl ether compounds (MTBE)
  • Other contaminants targeted by the chosen specialty cartridges

Filter Selection Notice: Actual contaminant reduction depends entirely on the cartridges installed. Water testing is recommended before selecting filters, especially for well water or water with known chemical, microbiological, iron, manganese, sulfur, hardness, or heavy-metal concerns.

Included Components

  • 1 × 20-inch × 4.5-inch clear housing with dual O-rings and pressure-release button
  • 2 × 20-inch × 4.5-inch Big Blue housings with dual O-rings and pressure-release buttons
  • 3 × 60 mm pressure gauges, rated up to approximately 10 kg/cm²
  • 1 × heavy-duty PVC ball valve
  • 1 × hex nipple
  • 1 × filter-housing wrench
  • 1 × heavy-duty three-stage metal wall-mounting bracket
  • 1-year manufacturer's limited warranty

System Specifications

  • Port size: 1-inch NPT inlet and outlet
  • Pressure drop at 20 GPM: less than 1 PSI without restrictive cartridges
  • Maximum operating pressure: 90 PSI
  • Recommended operating pressure: 20–60 PSI
  • Operating-water temperature: 40–100°F (5–40°C)
  • Dimensions: 27.5 in. H × 24.5 in. W × 8 in. D
  • Approximate weight: 42 lb.
  • Recommended feed-water pH range: 4.0–10.0
  • Maximum feed-water TDS: 2,000 ppm
  • Estimated flow range with 1-inch ports: 1–40 GPM

Flow-Rate Notice: Actual flow and pressure drop depend on incoming pressure, plumbing size, cartridge type, micron rating, water viscosity, contaminant loading, cartridge age, and overall system condition.

Pressure Safety: Install a pressure-reducing valve if incoming pressure can exceed 90 PSI. For best performance and longer housing life, maintaining the system near 60 PSI or lower is recommended.

Recommended Applications

  • Whole-house point-of-entry water filtration
  • City-water and well-water prefiltration
  • Commercial and light industrial water treatment
  • RO and DI system prefiltration
  • Manufacturing-process water filtration
  • Recycled-water and wash-water filtration
  • Electroplating and chemical-process prefiltration
  • Filtration of compatible low-viscosity fluids

Compatibility Notice: Confirm chemical compatibility before using the housings with fluids other than water. Temperature, pressure, viscosity, and chemical composition can affect housing, seal, gauge, valve, and cartridge performance.

TDS = Total Dissolved Solids.
