1,2,3-Trichloropropane (also known as 1,2,3 TCP, Allyl Trichloride, Glycerol Trichlorohydrin, Glycerin Trichlorohydrin, or Trichlorohydrin) is a man-made chemical compound created by Dow and Shell Chemical Companies. 1,2,3 TCP is a colourless or light straw coloured liquid with a strong chloroform odor. It is used as an industrial solvent used in many manufacturing sectors as a de-greaser, cleaning agent and varnish remover. 1,2,3 TCP is also used in the production epoxy resin and can produced as a by-product in manufacturing of other chemicals.
Drinking Water Reports for the Alliston and Tottenham Drinking Water Systems are available annually for public viewing starting in the first quarter of each following year.
The reports may also be viewed at the Town Administrative Office in Alliston or the Joint Operation Centre in Beeton, Monday to Friday during regular business hours of 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
The reports provide a brief description of the water systems, some of the major works undertaken to operate and maintain the systems for the past year, and the most recent water quality data.
